Adjoining the historic orchard where the houses are being built are three historic walled gardens, the first of which will be restored to its original organic garden use.
The other two, though, have been redeveloped, the first as an all-weather tennis-court and the second, as the main reception area and swimming-pool.
A natural suntrap, it was originally designed to bring on fruit, and therefore is a perfect site for the pool, which combines the latest green technology with organic construction materials.
It is lined with river pebbles, largely surrounded by natural decking and kept at a constant 28-degrees Celsius (82 Fahrenheit) from mid March to the end of October by the same carbon-neutral system that heats the houses. It also features a separate children's pool.
Future plans include a gym, steam-room, sauna, hot-tub and Jacuzzi.
